Bosco Update - May 2024
We are delighted that following stakeholder consultation and our own robust due diligence, Governors voted to join the Bosco CET. We believe this to be an excellent opportunity to maintain and strengthen all that we cherish about the St Mary Star of the Sea community as well as to benefit from closer ties with the wider Catholic family of schools within Bosco CET. We are delighted that both the Trust Board and Diocese have given approval for our application to the Department for Education and we look forward to communicating with you, in due course once we have received our academy order. As promised, both now and in the future, it is business as usual!
Parent Consultation Information - February 2024
After careful consideration and preliminary discussion with the Diocese, the Governing Body of St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School has decided that they wish to explore conversion to Academy status and join Bosco Catholic Education Trust.

We wrote to consult with staff, parents, local community partners and parishes to determine whether St Mary Star of the Sea should proceed with the first step in this process, which is the conversion to Academy status, and we welcomed your views on the matter.
At this stage, we are not committing St Mary Star of the Sea to conversion to Academy status. We have consulted with everyone associated with our school before Governors meet again to make a final decision.
