Ofsted Information

Our most recent Ofsted Inspection took place on the 23rd and 24th April 2024. This was an ungraded inspection . The inspection was over two days and it included deep dives into various subjects, lesson visits, discussions with staff/pupils and meeting with school leaders (including Governors).

The outcome of the inspection is that St Mary Star of the Sea continues to be a good school.

The report is extremely positive and reflects the progress we have made as a school since our last inspection in 2019. This is a fantastic achievement for everyone in our school team and it is something to be hugely proud of. In particular, we are proud of the comments reflecting the schools values and the comments in the last papragraph of the report.

‘Boys like to dance here. Girls enjoy competitive sports against other schools. Respect flows freely between pupils and staff. People are allowed to have a sense of humour. Kindness is the norm.’
