Welcome

I am delighted that you have chosen to view our web site.

We are a happy school community where everyone is supportive of one another. In our school, staff, parents, pupils and Governors work together to provide an environment in which each child can develop their potential as a whole person.

As a Catholic School, we give our commitment to Christ’s teaching through the Mission Statement which underpins everything we do and therefore our children are taught to respect themselves and others, to be kind, thoughtful and caring.

We are committed to providing the very best academic, creative and sporting opportunities possible for each child. We have a firm belief in the importance of numeracy and literacy skills and also believe that learning should be fun and practical. Our children have many opportunities to go on educational visits and to use the local environments of Hastings Museum, the beach and countryside.

The close proximity of The White Rock Theatre has enabled us to go to plays and performances and to enjoy considerable success in Hastings Music Festival and other theatre events. Our older pupils also experience the benefits of Horntye Sports Stadium and Summerfields Swimming Pool, both of which are only a few minutes walk from our school.

Before starting school our new Reception Class pupils have a very supportive induction programme where they are invited to come to school and get to know their new classroom environment and the staff who will be looking after them. They also have the chance to meet their Year 6 "Buddy” who will be assigned to them as a special friend for their Reception year. "Buddies” read and play with their Reception friend in school and also accompany them to church. They provide friendship and a familiar face to rely on as well as acting as a role-model. It is a job our Year 6 pupils are proud to do and thoroughly enjoy!

Prospective parents and children are very welcome to visit our school and see our community in action. We look forward to welcoming you.
